Trivia Question
Utah Pioneer Trivia Question

Question: What color were the wagons the Mormon Pioneers used when coming west to Utah?
	A-Natural Color, Not Painted
	B-Painted Brown or Varnished
C-Dark Green, Turquoise, Orange, Red or White
	D-Red, White and Blue

Answer:
The answer is, “C”. The running gear (wheels and axles) were usually painted orange or red. The bed was either painted turquoise or dark green. The cover was usually painted white. Many times there were numbers painted on the covers to help the Wagon Train Masters keep track of the wagons. Some covers really did have things written on them like, “Salt Lake or Bust” or “The Merrie Mormons”. The wagons were painted so they would last a long time. Many wagons that came to Salt Lake City were sent East by Brigham Young and were used over and over again.

The Military wagons were painted red, white and blue.
