A visit to Utah would not be entirely complete without some of our Old Fashioned Salt Water Taffy. The Trolley Taffy Station has been known for wonderful salt water taffy for years.
Many ask, "Why is Old Fashioned Salt Water Taffy so famous or popular?" and "why Utah?"
Over 150 years ago Mormon pioneers settled the Salt Lake Valley. In Utah, when the words old fashioned are mentioned pioneers also come to mind. Utah is known for industry and hard work.
The Great Salt Lake is one of the natural wonders of the world being generally four to five times more salty than the ocean. In drought years from six to eight times more salty than the ocean. It was discovered by fur trappers in the 1820's.
The combination of the Mormon pioneers and the Great Salt Lake make Salt Lake City a great setting for the best Old Fashioned Salt Water Taffy in the world.
Why is it the best? Our wonderful customers tell us EVERY DAY!
Our secret recipe is made from only the finest ingredients. We use an old style puller to pull the taffy and each piece is still wrapped by hand. We use no preservatives and whenever possible we use natural flavorings and colorings.
Old Fashioned Salt Water Taffy is what the Trolley Taffy Station is best known for but we also sell a wide variety of other items. We make wonderful Old World Style Sweet Cream Caramels, sweet cream and butter Fudge, Gourmet Caramel Corn, Popcorns, out of this world Caramel Apples, and many other unique chocolate and caramel creations.
We are proud to have founded the Trolley Taffy Station. It's located in Historic Trolley Square and we still operate it today. We also own and operate the Chocolate Covered Wagon located in Sandy, Utah.
In February 2002 there was a Winter Olympic Pin created and crafted after of our salt water taffy. It was chosen to be the # 13 most popular Olympic Pin for our Salt Lake City, Winter, Olympics.
